What Does Trauma-Informed Therapy Mean?

Radiant Connections Therapy · Educational article

Understanding the concept

Trauma-informed care emphasizes physical and emotional safety, collaboration, choice, transparency, and awareness of trauma’s possible effects. It does not mean every session must involve recounting distressing events.

What this might look like

A therapist might explain why they are asking about sensitive experiences and invite you to decide what feels manageable to discuss.

A question to reflect on

What would make sensitive conversations feel more predictable and collaborative?
